Opposition to mobile phone masts on the water tower is widespread within
the local community:
- A petition of 362 names was raised for this particular application
Support from local residents is overwhelming and many thousands of
signatures have been raised against previous applications on the Water
Tower.
- We understand that you will also be receiving letters of objection to
Orange from New Brighton Community Partnership, St. Peter & Pauls
Primary School and Mount Primary School.
- Local ward councillor Tony Pritchard objects on the grounds that the
Listed building is not being preserved and the addition of modern
equipment is offensive to neighbours. He has also raised the issue of
Human Rights since concerns about health issues (founded or unfounded)
could prevent some parents from sending their children to the faith
school of their choice (St. Peter & Pauls is the only Catholic Primary
school in the area).
